Meet Brigit Towey

 Therapist- M.S. LMHC

Brigit Towey, MS, LMHC is a licensed mental health counselor and certified child welfare professional. Brigit recognizes the time, focus, dedication, and stress required to maintain a healthy work-life balance, especially since raising a family in today's society requires a lot of support and resources.

She utilizes a family-centered and trauma-informed approach in treatment that is focused on the philosophy of the African proverb: "It takes a village to raise a child."

Brigit has been working with families (biological, step, foster, adoptive, kinship, etc.) since 2000, promoting healing within the family setting. She provides professional consultation and training in addition to public speaking engagements. Her therapeutic services include family team coaching, parenting instruction, individual therapy for children and adults, and family therapy.

Brigit is a certified educator and consultant in trauma informed care. She is certified and trained in trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy. In addition, she is a trainer and facilitator for Florida’s Adoption Competency certification.

Meet Fayola Caines

Therapist- M.S MHCI

Fayola Caines M.S. is a registered mental health therapist intern who wears many hats. She is a mother, beauty consultant, teen mentor, life coach, and motivational speaker focused on helping others embrace total wellness!

Fayola seeks to inspire, motivate, and equip her clients with the needed tools that benefit their unique circumstances through the use of positive therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and solution-focused therapies. Her strategies are research-based, provide positive detox therapy and learning opportunities for clients to become aware of themselves, their thinking, and their emotions.

Fayola seeks to assist individuals as well as couples to remove barriers that cloud their judgment for success in personal, business, or career life. She accomplishes this through what she refers to as “Detox Therapy.” She believes that the relationship you have with yourself is an ultimate influencing factor on the relationship you have with others.

She provides an interactive therapy for her clients infused with tools and techniques that allow them to gain better clarity of what they want out of their relationships, career, and life.

She seeks to spread awareness about the importance of having a counseling relationship just as everyone has medical relationships with their PCP, OB-GYN, personal trainer, or mentor. Her objective is to dismantle the stereotypes that surround obtaining therapy and to help people understand that having a therapist means that you desire to have great relationships with your career, yourself, and others.

Her belief is that you should utilize a trained professional if you want to get some things sorted out and talk to someone in an unbiased, confidential way. She strives to make her couch unlike any ordinary therapist couch, but a place where you can get totally honest with yourself and make your life rock!

Fayola also believes that dropping physical weight is mental. She feels that most people’s struggles have nothing to do with their physical ability to get started and become consistent. Once the mental blocks of what is keeping you from being successful in accomplishing other areas of your life are addressed, anything is possible through what she calls “resistance resilience training.”

Reiki:

Kelly attended Carolina Reiki Institute in 2008 where she earned her Reiki Master Certification in the Mikao Usui heritage. She has used Reiki in palliative care settings, corporate settings, and private practice.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy

Reiki can be translated into "Rei", meaning Universal Power, and "Ki", meaning Life force energy. Reiki is used by a practitioner who has been attuned to the powerful symbols that awaken a practitioner's ability to give energy healing for the purpose of removing blockages that lay within the energetic field of the body. This energy can be within the Chakras, the Aura, or anywhere there has been an injury or stored trauma.

The practitioner can move energy within the field, clear energy out of the field, and replace energy with Universal energy for the receiver. This can sometimes be felt as vibration, heat, cold, or no sensation at all. There is no action the receiver needs to do or take. The energy knows where to go.

A Reiki session is usually done within an hour and the receiver remains fully clothed throughout the session. The receiver usually feels more peaceful and light after a session. There are times during an initial clearing when one may leave feeling emotional and may laugh or cry more than normal for a short time. This is a positive sign and nothing to worry about. Reiki is very soothing an can help with anxiety and nervousness as well as physical pain.
